Organic Fruit and Vegetables

The Farm is located at a height of 250m above sea level. The excellent climate in Tenerife allows the cultivation of a wide variety of fruit and vegetables throughout the year, which normally grow in climatic zones from fresh to sub- tropical.....
With only one hectare the farm is rather small, but all produce offered in the on-farm shop is grown or produced here and recently harvested, - without the need for transportation or cold storage ...
It is planted according to the rules of organic agriculture with a great variety of vegetables, Fruit trees and different varieties of Banana
This method of cultivation is more natural than mono-cultivation, but is much more demanding and laborious for the farmer … The small terraces hardly allow the use of machinery and have to be worked manually...
The finca disposes of a small greenhouse, where we grow plantlings out of certified organic seeds,- or for plants needed in somewhat larger quantities, like lettuces, beets, cabbages etc. we buy plants from certified organic greenhouses in Tenerife. The plants are used for the vegetable production at the finca - and - as ecologic plantlings can hardly be found in the market, we also make them available for our allotment tenants. Clients holding an allotment may also grow their own plantings here if they wish ....
